Instructions for Armourers - 1931

Complete text and illustrated plates

The manual covers all British standard issue small-arms of the time,

as well as machine guns, general accessories, and the military bicycle.

It was issued to each unit's trained armourer, whose task was to maintain, repair

and update British made small arms wherever they (and the armourer) were in the World.

An amendment sheet dated for March 1940 covering a number of changes
issued with Drawing No. 2332 below for an alteration to the auxiliary spring of the Bren LMG.

 

 

Each manual was accompanied by a separate box containing the relevant drawings listed below:

D.D(E) are Enfield Royal Small Arms Factory design drawings,

and S.A.I.D. are Small Arms Identification Drawings.
