Read this article taken from the September 1950 issue of The Marksman,
as a flip-page document.Enfield_Rifle_No.5.html
"The Marksman" was a short-lived monthly journal which was initially published in mid-1950 as a "Specimen Issue". It was followed up over four following months only, until its demise with the final issue No.4 (of Volume 1) in November of that year.
The Editor was M.E. Bradfield, and the Art Editor one E.C. Horner.
Many of the articles were either written, or sourced by, an advisory panel consisting of Captain E.W.H. Brookes, A.J. Foster, J.C.J. Knott and J.B. Leslie.
John Knott was known for the building of a number of designs of small-bore rifle, but is generally accepted as having been responsible for producing the Centre-Fire High Power rifle used by the British Team in the 1948 Olympic Games. Further information on Knott can be accessed via the link below.
