INTRODUCTION

PURPOSE

1.                The Rifle, .22 Calibre, C No 7, MK 1 is used by the Canadian Forces as a recreational rifle

and by the cadet corps for rifle training and familiarization programs.

This rifle is generally the same in physical appearance as the Rifle, .303 Calibre, No 4, MK 1 Star.

 

The use of .22 calibre ammunition in a rifle of this nature allows close simulation of the operational

 

characteristics of the .303 calibre weapon, at a reduced cost.

DESCRIPTION

2.                The Rifle .22 Calibre, C No 7, MK 1, is a heavy barrel, manually operated, bolt action, hand fed

rifle, capable of firing single shots only. It fires 5.6 x 16R cartridges.

3.                                The C No 7 series rifle was developed from the Lee Enfield, .303 Calibre, No 4, MK 1 rifle, which

accounts for the design similarities.

The Rifle, .22 Calibre, Lee Enfield, C No 7, MK 1 has the following differences:

a.       Dual range leaf back sight;

b.       Sling swivel on the front trigger guard screw;

c.       Modified magazine that acts as a loading platform and catches the empty casings;

d.       No bayonet lugs;

e.     A shortened striker with a separate firing pin, oriented for rim fire cartridges; and

f.     A bolt head machined to accommodate the headspace and firing pin for rim fire cartridges.

INTRODUCTION

OBJET

1.                Le fusil de calibre 0.22 mm, C N° 7, MK 1 est utilisé par les Forces canadiennes comme un fusil

récréatif et par le corps de cadets, pour les programmes de familiarisation et de formation pour le tir au fusil. Ce fusil a pratiquement le même aspect physique que le fusil de calibre 0.303 mm, N° 4, Mk 1 Star. L'utilisation de munitions de calibre 0.22 mm avec ce type de fusil permet d'obtenir, à moindre frais, une simulation très proche des caractéristiques de fonctionnement de l'arme de calibre 0.303 mm.

DESCRIPTION

2.                Le fusil de calibre 0.22 mm, C N° 7, Mk 1, est une arme à canon lourd, commande manuelle,

verrou, alimenté manuellement et à un coup seulement. Il tire des cartouches de 5.6 x 16R.

3.                  Le fusil de la série C N° 7 a été mis au point à partir du fusil Lee Enfield, de calibre .303 mm,

N° 4, MK 1, ce qui lui donne des similarités de conception. Le fusil de calibre .22 mm, Lee Enfield, C N° 7, MK 1, comporte les différences suivantes :

a.       Hausse à lame à deux portées ;

b.       Attache de bretelle sur la vis avant de la détente ;

c.       Chargeur modifié fonctionnant comme rampe de chargement prévue pour attraper les douilles vides ;

d.       Aucun tenon de baïonnette ;

e.       Une masse percutante avec un percuteur séparé ; orienté pour les cartouches à percussion annulaire ; et

f.        Une tête de verrou usinée correspondant à la feuillure et au percuteur pour les cartouches à percussion annulaire.
