1080Corps marking.
Approval has been given for the marking of corps marks on the above-mentioned Rifles (§ B2750). The mark will be carried out locally in accordance with Equipment Regulations Part I, and will be placed on the right side of the rear yoke of the cradle as shown on the accompanying sketch.
Note: - Stamps, steel, for metal, 5/64-in. for figures and letters, (Section F), as used for marking service arms will be employed for this work also.

Drawings (D.D. (L) 7416, 7818, 7933, 8763, 8559 and D.D. (L)
7875 respectively) of the above-mentioned cartridges have been sealed to govern manufacture for Land Service. The armour-piercing cartridge consists of a brass case containing charge of approximately 186-gr. of cordite M.D.T. 7-2, percussion
can and bullet.
The case is of the belted type tapering slightly towards the mouth and is bored out at the base to form an anvil and a chamber for the percussion cap. Two fireholes connect the cap chamber to the interior of the case.
The cap is of brass and contains from 1.4 to 1.6-gr. of cap C1:-
The bullet consists of a steel envelope coated with cupro-nickel
and contains a lead sleeve with a steel core.
Two grooves are formed round the bullet for attachment of the case, the mouth of the latter being coned on to the upper groove and indented to the lower groove in three places.
