Peddie's visit to the War Office yesterday to attend the Yinature Kifle Committee Heeting 1would say 1 that he observed that the foresight protector submitted on our Uinature ~ifle had: eTidently been put to some test 1 and in case that there was any misapprehension on the subject 1 th0ught it well to ex- plain, that, the ~oresight protector as submitted was purely a sample (T)1.J2_ and that owin~ to the absence of' the necessary plant to make it on ,, the lines o~ the larger pattern as at preaent •sed in the Army, OUr model had to be soldered at the jOints instead o~ being pressed,whieh latter method is the one we intend ~o employ. We thought it advisable to make this explanation in case you had ~or.med the impression that we intended to solder them. In the second model of ~ifle left by our Hr.
