These two particularly unusual modified Lincoln Jeffries air rifles appeared at auction some years ago.
They are perhaps worth illustrating on site for their rarity.
A very unusual magazine-fed conversion

BSA, BIRMINGHAM
A UNIQUE, POSSIBLY EXPERIMENTAL .177 UNDER-LEVER MAGAZINE-FED AIR-RIFLE BASED ON A LIGHT PATTERN, serial no. L616,
the rifle dating to 1919, the adaption to magazine feed believed contemporary with this date, with 17in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, elevating notch rear-sight, the top of breech fitted with a drum containing a tensioned ball bearing operating on the top-edge of a 'mouth-organ ' style brass magazine, the tp of the plain air-chamber signed 'THE BSA AIR-RIFLE (IMPROVED MODEL D)' over 'THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. LTD ENGLAND, SOLE MANUFACTURERS', additional reinforcing ring forwards of trigger unit, straight hand walnut butt-stock, cast trigger-guard and side-catch under-lever with patents and registration numbers .
