There are three

be of pre - 1946 design.

and tangent or "in the spirit of the original" aperture rear sight.

2) RAPID REPEATER

3) RAPID SEMI_AUTOMATIC
- any sights.
Time limit 10 seconds
per diagram (i.e. 40 seconds for 20 shots; five shots on each of four diagrams)
Telescopic sights
may be used for classes 2 and 3, ideally of a type that might have originally
been used on your rifle - Max: 8 x power
COURSE OF FIRE
In each class, in
each of ten rounds, competitors will fire 20 shots at two, two-bull TARGETS
,
five shots on each diagram. All cards are to be shot at 15, 20 or 25 yards
standing unsupported. No slings, palm rests or gloves. If standing is a
problem, the course of fire may be shot sitting on a stool, providing that
no part of the arms, shoulders or torso is supported.
TARGETS
These are the same
for all three classes.
Beware - we have
changed these from 2000-2001
We are now using
the "Tin Hat" American decimal historic TARGETS
reprinted by the Dorchester Rifle & Pistol Club for their 50 yard Summer
League
( these have one
more scoring ring than the full round black target - and will permit better
scores)
They are available
as usual from - email: dhannam@tesco.net
N.B. If you wish
to shoot at 15 or 20 yards, then acquire a target and photocopy reduce it
onto suitable paper.
The diameter of the BLACK should be reduced from 3.875" (3 7/8")
on the original target
to 3.056" (3 1/20") for use at 20 yards - or to 2.237" (2
¼") for use at 15 yards
In all other respects,
the standing competition is the same as the prone.
i.e. Shooting dates,
match system, scoring, etc.
